This 3 day Bushcraft green woodworking woodland workshop covers a wide range of carving techniques and safe tool use, aiming to send you home with your own hand-carved wooden spoons and bowls.

What's it about

Firstly you'll need to know how to identify trees suitable for working with, and sustainably source, harvest, and produce your own wood to make spoon and bowl blanks.

From there you'll be guided through how to safely use the tools needed to make your projects, including the technical knowledge to help you take the skills home. You won't need any tools but if you do have your own please feel free to bring them and we can advise you on their suitability.

Whether you're a practiced carver or a beginner, this is a must-have workshop — not just to understand the principles of greenwood working and carving but to take your carving to the next level, beyond functionality and towards intricate pieces of craft work.

These skills are essential to any aspiring woodsman or bushcrafter. Most importantly, these craft principles are scalable: whether your project is a spoon, bowl, bow stave, or paddle, you'll be able to make and produce any of your small or large woodcraft projects.

Set in our beautiful private woodlands, this is a real opportunity to come and refocus in the woods and enjoy working with your hands around the camp fire.

Duration

The course is run over 4 days, however the first day you arrive in the evening at 5pm for setting up your camps and an early evening informal talk on green wood carving and craft.

Camping

Woodland camping is included at no extra cost if you want to arrive the night before. Please let us know if you intend to camp.

Fees

The cost of this course is £325. We will invoice for the remaining £225 4-6 weeks prior to the course start date. The deposit guarantees your place or group on the course. If you have a large group or would like a bespoke day, please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Non-catered. Tea and coffee will be available.

The course is set entirely outdoors under the cover of canvas tarps. Appropriate warm outdoor clothing is required.
