The Autumn Forager - Wild Foraging Course £275

The Autumn Forager - Wild Foraging Course £275

At Phil Brooke Longbows, you don’t just gather wild food. You step into a living tradition, connect with the rhythms of the seasons, and learn the skills that sustained our ancestors for generations.

On the Autumn Forager course, that heritage comes alive. You’ll explore woodland floors and hedgerows at the height of autumn abundance, identify nuts, berries, roots, and late-season plants, and learn practical, sustainable methods to harvest and prepare them.

Train with curiosity. Learn with respect. Leave with a deeper understanding of the land, its bounty, and the skills to confidently gather from it.

Autumn is often overlooked, yet it is one of the richest seasons for wild food in the British countryside. Our Autumn Forager Wild Foraging Course in East Sussex takes place at the height of this abundance, when woodland hedgerows and forest floors are alive with nuts, berries, roots and late-season plants.

Join like-minded people on this immersive Sussex foraging course, with participants regularly travelling from London, Surrey, Hampshire, Kent and across the UK.

This in-depth wild food course explores the plants, berries, roots, nuts and fish that sustained our ancestors long before farming. You will learn how they identified, gathered and prepared food to see them through the coming winter, using techniques rooted in traditional woodland living.

This is an adult-only course.

Reviews

Josh Smith – 2022

“I’ve completed a variety of courses with Phil now, including the Level 3 Bushcraft Award, bow-making workshop, arrow-making workshop, Level 4 Applied Bushcraft Award and Level 4 Bowmaking. The simple reason I keep coming back is that Phil is one of the best instructors in the industry. He is a full-time professional bowyer and an experienced woodsman, and he has an incredible ability to transfer his knowledge and skills. I can’t recommend Phil and his team highly enough to anyone interested in bushcraft, wilderness survival, ethnobotany, green woodworking, deer butchery, wild food or bow making.”
