The British Wildlife Course £325
Train with purpose. Learn with depth. Discover the hidden secrets of our forest habitats and gain the skills to become a wildlife detective. Understand not just the presence of animals, but how to interpret their behaviour, tracks, and signs to make informed decisions about woodland management.
Whats it about
This wildlife packed course aims to enable you to become a wildlife detective. Come and learn the hidden secrets our forest habitats have to offer. Far too often the forest here in the UK gets overlooked, seen as boring or tame environments with little wildlife action going on. This couldn't be further from the truth, from the magical autumn rutting calls from the Fallow deer or Red deer, to the chilling noise of hearing mustelids hunt at night in your hammock, to the dawn chorus and the promise of spring weather, the forests of the British Isles are far from boring!
Whether you're on our qualifications like the Certificate Of Applied Bushcraft or looking to do this course to up skill in these areas for CPD or looking after your own land, this course is an excellent start in the process of being able to successfully survey your own woods, enabling you to make more informed management decisions.

My experience with Phil Brooke Longbows on the British Wildlife Course was absolutely fantastic. Phil delivered his wealth of knowledge and understanding of woodland ecology, wildlife behaviour, and habitat management in an easily understandable and engaging way. I would highly recommend this course.
The highlight of my weekend was learning how to properly read tracks and signs in the woodland and beginning to piece together what had actually been happening in the landscape around us. What once felt like just a quiet stretch of forest suddenly came alive with movement and meaning. From identifying subtle trails and feeding signs to understanding how different species interact within the same space, it completely changed the way I look at woodland.
This course has given me the confidence to start surveying my own woods and to notice details I would have previously walked straight past. I absolutely loved the depth of knowledge shared and the hands-on approach throughout. I can’t wait to book another course — the way of the woods.
